We do our best to address the most common questions here. But hey, we're just an email away...
Q. Can BC head shops ship products to other provinces?
A. No, while each province has its own laws, the current regulations in BC prevent Cannabis Retail Stores from shipping Cannabis products within, and outside of BC. We do however have a feature where you can place an order and pick up your package in-store.
Q. Do I need ID to buy cannabis products in BC?
A. Yes. Whether you pick up reserved products, or buy in store, you will need ID to prove your age. In BC, the legal age to purchase cannabis or cannabis accessories is 19 years old.
Q. Is there a limit as to how much cannabis products I can buy in one transaction?
A. Yes. The limit is 30 grams of dried Cannabis, or the equivalent in concentrates, edibles, or topicals. There is a daily limit of 30 grams per customer.
Q. How do I know when edibles are fresh?
A. Every Cottonmouth product is labelled with an expiry date. If you're ever unsure, our budtenders are always available to help walk you through your purchase to ensure you're receiving a quality product.
Q. What are the benefits of buying from a licensed head shop?
A. There are many. When you buy from a legal pot shop like Cottonmouth, you're supporting local businesses. Conversely, when you buy from an underground operation, you maybe me inadvertently financing a criminal organization.
With licensed shops, you know exactly where the product is coming from, so you know it's safe to consume, as well as knowing exactly who you're buying it from, so you can guarantee that your financial information during the purchasing process is kept safe and secure.
Q. How can I tell if an online head shop is licensed?
A. When you're buying online, there are many tell-tale signs to show if a shop is licensed. You can read this blog on how to tell whether or not an online cannabis store is legitimate.
Q. How can I know if a cannabis product is fresh?
A. Packing dates are always available for all cannabis products at Cottonmouth. We buy all our products from licensed producers that must abide by the highest Health Canada standards. One of their processes includes curing the flowers first before storing products in sealed packaging for optimal freshness.
Q. What are some of the ways to consume cannabis if you don’t want to smoke it?
A. The active ingredients and terpenes found in cannabis can be safely extracted and consumed in several ways aside from smoking. At Cottonmouth, we carry a variety of products for people who prefer alternative methods of consumption, including a wide range of edibles, and extracts. Whether it’s oils, waxes, gummies, or topicals, we’ve got you covered. Come on in, we’d love to show you what we have.
Q. What’s the best way to store my cannabis products after purchasing?
A. Typically speaking, the ideal storage is a cool, dark place like a kitchen cupboard. At Cottonmouth, we carry Boveda packs, hydration stones, and airtight containers to prolong or rehydrate your cannabis. With that in mind, some edibles may have special storing instructions because of the nature of their ingredients. It’s always best to check the packaging details to ensure you’re storing your products in a safe place to not only keep things fresh, but to ensure that pets and children cannot reach them.
Q. How can I tell how concentrated a product is?
A. All legal cannabis products are labelled with THC and CBD concentrations. The higher the percentage, the stronger the product is. If you have a low tolerance, or you are a new user, it’s always best to be extra cautious and start with a lower dose. Ask one of our budtenders for a recommendation – we’re always happy to help.
